BY: DUSAN BELIC, INTOMOBILE

Samsung has officially announced the global launch of its Samsung Smart Home service which will first be rolled out in Korea and the United States, with more countries added throughout the year. As you would imagine, the service makes home automation effortless and easy, with a single app that makes it possible to connect and control home appliances, TVs and mobile devices.

Among the supported appliances are Samsung Smart Bulbs, air conditioners, washing machines, smart fridges, with more devices getting the same treatment soon, including robot vacuum cleaners and the Samsung Gear Fit.
Using a single app, users will be able to control multiple devices simultaneously. For example, you will be able to simply say “Good Night” to the TV remote control, and connected devices within the home could be set-up to automatically turn off. Furthermore, there will be an option to use the app on a smartphone or wearable device to check the status of home appliances.
For smartphones, the app can be downloaded from Samsung Apps and Google Play. A separate app will soon be available for Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung’s 2014 Smart TVs.
Finally, to address security concerns, Samsung made sure that all data that is transmitted by the app is encrypted. This ensures that the people can enjoy the service safe in the knowledge their data remains private…
